USING DIFFERENT TYPES OF BLACK LIGHT PAINTS

There are several different purposes of black light paints and thus there are many different types to choose from. We want you to get the exact paint that is best for you so we will be happy go over the main types that we carry and how to decide which one is best for your purpose. The very first thing you need to know is that there are many different names for the same type of product and function:

BLACK LIGHT PAINTS, UV PAINTS, FLUORECENT PAINTS, NEON PAINT

Although the above represents most of the names there are many other sub-names such as UV Glow, Fluorescent Neon, Blacklight Paint, UV Party Paint, Glow Party Paint, etc. The key to remember is that they all do the same thing: "GLOW UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT". However they are all much different in purpose and function:

A. Washable Black Light Paint: When we say the term "washable" it doesn't mean washable as in washing dirt and grime off your permanant acrylic walls such that it won't affect the paint and therefore the paint is washable. We are implying it is washable in the sense that the paint will come off your skin, your hair and most materials with just some soap and some water. However, this does not mean every single material and in fact there are some materials (usually porous and light colored) that the paint will leave mild stains or discolorations on. Washalbe paints are by nature unstable and once they get wet, they begin to breakdown. This makes our washable paints perfect for Splash Parties, Color Runs, Field Splash Parties, Paint Fights, Paint Sports, and many more functions where you want the paint to be gone as soon as you are finished with your event. B. Semi-Washable Black Light Paint: This paint is also partially washable as is is designed to come off skin and hair with just soap and water. If you are having a tough time of it, we recommend using dawn dish soap as that always seems to work the best. However, this product will in fact stain many different types of materials and the more porous and light colored the material is, the more likely it is going to stain. The great thing about this product is it has a higher pigment load, it is brighter and more opaque. This makes this product perfect for Poster Painting, Arts and Crafts, General Skin Designs and more. Some people will use this paint for outdoor color runs or black light parties when they want the T-shirts to get stained. C. Permanent Acrylic Black Light Paint: This paint is designed to go on and stay on so it will stain everything. It is a water-based non-toxic and non-hazardous thicker acrylic that has been used on walls but and is great for Arts and Crafts Projects, Glow Putt Putt, Laser Tag, Murals, Halloween Decorations, Go Cart Tracks, Arcades, and more. Use this paint when painting on Plastic, Wood, Drywall (primed), Styrofoam, Metal, and other surfaces.

 

 

Disclosures: You should always let the people attending your event that the paint is non-toxic water-based and has passed ASTMD-4236 safety standards. However, there are a super small percentage of people in the world that are allergic to preservatives. We use the same preservative that is used in most shampoos. Nonetheless, it is still appropriate to inform everyone and let them know they can do a small test with the paint if they have any concerns. People, who have dry or sensitive skin, may experience temporary staining or mild irritation. If any irritation occurs, wash off with soap and water immediately. .

Don’t Run Out… If you are hosting an event, we always recommend error on the side of caution meaning better to purchase a little more than not enough. Just in case you purchase too much, the paint will last several years if unopened and stored in a cool dry place out of the sun. Paint party paint has been specially formulated to be as safe as possible. It is a non-toxic water based washable fluorescent neon paint that glows under a black light (ultraviolet light).
